Our group enjoys gathering to learn and share more about quilting with each other. We enjoy our time together in monthly meetings, sew-days and instructor led special events.
Our guild is active in supporting our community as well - visit our community service page to see some of the organizations we are currently supporting with our quilts and other projects.
Since the library is closed for meetings indefinitely due to public health concerns, the SRQG will meet in TR United Methodist Church Gym on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 10 AM.
During the lockdown due to COVID-19, members have made and donated over 900 masks as well as tube covers for chemo patients in the children's unit, pillowcases for the Shriner's Children's Hospital, and charity quilts.
Our next meeting will be on Thursday, June 16th at 10:00. Remember to bring any community service projects you've finished, as well as sharing any projects you're making for your own use or for gifting.
Please save the date of Thursday, July 14 th at 10 am to attend our Swamp Rabbit Quilt Guild BBQ party. It will be at Poinsett Park.
If you would like to participate in a game, bring 12, 2 1/2" jelly roll strips. Also, bring a side dish or summer treat to share and an optional camp chair.
If you don't have a quilted name tag, consider making one for our next meeting. Quilted name tag ideas can be found on Pinterest. Name tags are a great way for members of our growing group to learn each others' names, and a quilted one lets us use our love of quilting along with our creativity.
What to bring to the next meeting:
1. Quilted name tag - make one to share so we can all admire it!
2. Show and Tell
3. Community Service projects (see Community Service)
4. Your plans to have fun and learn !
