2025 Quilt Project
It Takes a Village Quilt
Village is a free PDF download available from the Fat Quarter Shop or the Moda Website. The quilt can be made with scraps or charm packs along with some yardage.
Here is a link to the free pattern: https://www.fatquartershop.com/village-quilt-free-pdf-pattern

Participants will have the opportunity to show their completed blocks at the monthly guild meetings. And the big reveal for quilts or quilt tops will be at the November meeting. A prize drawing will be held at the December gathering.
There are options for participation in the project…
-
Participate in the monthly block exchange for a scrappy look.
-
Starting with the February meeting bring at least 2 completed blocks that are 5.5” x 7” to the monthly meeting.
-
You will show your blocks and you will choose one of your blocks to exchange.
-
Please put the exchange block in a quart size Zip lock bag for safekeeping.
-
You will sign-in for the exchange when you arrive at meeting and we will randomly team you up with another participant to exchange with for that month.

You can create your own version of the Village quilt as a mini-quilt, table runner, wall hanging or lap quilt. You may want to have a theme for your quilt for example haunted houses or houses to signify seasons of the year. A prolific quilter may want to make the 132 house village which finishes at 69” x 75.5” which will qualify them for their name entered in the prize drawing 2 times. You could focus on a holiday or color or solid fabrics or black & white only or whatever strikes your fancy. One person drew their inspiration from a charm pack in blues that yielded 20 houses and they added tree blocks for a village wall hanging.
